Double Down Saloon: The Ultimate Dive Bar Experience in NYC

A super divey dive bar that I was told was a rite of passage for visitors to the Lower East Side. Came here on the way to another bar and we all took a shot of their special Assjuice (this tasted like pineapple and you couldn’t really tell what liquors were used). Plenty of indoor seating and the crowd was quite eclectic. They have games as well as TVs.

Went to the bar where we experienced a warm welcome and exemplary service from David the bartender and all the supporting staff. Food and beverages exceeded our expectations; we tried the ass juice for Two and couldn't get enough of the "Lower East Side" cocktail made with rye, passion fruit and lemon. It was a lovely experience and they  even played my favorite porn on the tv above the bar!

A gorgeous old-school dive bar in LES with great happy-hour discounts, nice drinks, friendly service, and excellent vibes. There's graffiti on all the walls and a classy selection of visuals for sipping while you down your juice.

The bartender was amazing—friendly, attentive, and truly skilled. The cocktails were perfect. Despite being a dive bar, the place was impressively clean, including the restrooms, which were well maintained throughout the night. Cold water was readily available, and the overall atmosphere felt safe and welcoming, especially for women. Although the bar doesn't serve food, you can still bring your own food to enjoy.

Double Down Saloon is exactly what you’d expect from a proper dive bar—dark, gritty, and unapologetically itself. The moment I walked in, the punk-rock vibe hit me, with walls covered in graffiti and old band posters. It’s not the kind of place you go for fancy cocktails or small talk, but the drinks are cheap, and the bartenders know what they’re doing. I tried their infamous “4$$ Juice,” and, surprisingly, it wasn’t half bad. Definitely worth a try if you’re feeling adventurous. The crowd was a good mix of regulars and people just passing through, and everyone seemed laid-back and in good spirits. If you’re into spots with character and don’t mind a little grime, this is a solid place to grab a drink and soak up the atmosphere.

$3 pint of PBR during happy hour is hard to beat in the city. The playlist was just the way I like it and the staff was nice. Plenty of seating and an outdoor area as well. Would definitely be a go to for me in this neighborhood.

The dingiest bar I’ve found in LES. Perfect. I love it. 3$ pints before 8pm is a dream come true in this city. Amazing place, easy to sit outside, would definitely come back and get belligerent with the boys.
